We celebrate the Feast of St. Matthew, the Apostle and Evangelist on September 21st. He had a profound transformation from a tax collector to a beloved disciple of Christ after his encounter with Jesus who simply said, “Follow me.” Matthew immediately rose and left everything behind to follow Jesus. After Jesus’s death and resurrection, Matthew dedicated his life to spreading the Gospel with his insights culminating in the first gospel account in the New Testament. Matthew is an example of trust and devotion and a reminder that we are all called to follow Christ.
