Congratulations to the Rev. Matthew Sparks!

With joy and thanksgiving, we celebrated the ordination of Matthew Sparks to the sacred order of priests on June 5, the Feast of St. Boniface, in the Octave of the Ascension. The service, held at St. John’s Church in Savannah, was a beautiful and holy occasion, presided over by The Rt. Rev. Paul Lambert on behalf of the Rt. Rev. Justin Holcomb, Bishop of the Central Florida Diocese.

We give thanks for Matthew’s faithful journey and his calling to serve Christ’s Church. Fr. Sparks and his family will leave Savannah next week for Texas, where he had been appointed to the parish of St. John’s, Corsicana. Our prayers continue for Fr. Sparks, for the Sparks family, and for the parishioners for which he has been called. May God bless and guide him in this new chapter of priestly ministry.
