Save-the-Date: Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis – St. John's Church, in Savannah

Our neighbors at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church (429 Abercorn St.) invite you to a special musical celebration as they reopen their beautifully restored historic Sanctuary. On Saturday, December 12, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., they will present Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, a monumental sacred masterpiece for choir, orchestra, and soloists.

This festive evening marks the church’s return to worship in their Sanctuary after more than a year of repairs following the unexpected ceiling collapse in July 2025. The space will be adorned for Christmas, providing a stunning setting for one of Beethoven’s greatest works—written as an expression of deep faith and inscribed with the words, “From the heart—may it return to the heart.”
